?Who are we

The Kehillot Foundation serves as a guiding and assisting entity for over 70 communities all around the country, according to their specific needs and values. The Foundation coordinates efforts, working with public and economic bodies. Guiding these groups with organizational consulting, based on knowledge accumulated from previous and other groups and communities.

Additionally, the Kehillot Foundation works to raise resources for these communities and advocates for government legislation to promote their activities. The vision of the Foundation is to create a large movement that will uplift the spirit, empower the moral and bring educational and social momentum throughout these communities in Israel.

The Kehillot Foundation sees the main avenue for creating this momentum as activity through the social and religious communities operating in cities across the country. In light of this, the Kehillot Foundation aims to promote the development of these social and religious groups, seeing its role as one that serves these communities, professionalizes their activities, and accompanies and supports programs and community involvement.

Message from the President – Rabbi Dr. Daniel Troper

One of the deficiencies that modern humans suffer from is the lack of community. While it is true that God created only one human being, as it is written in the Talmud (Sanhedrin 4:6) "Therefore, man was created alone," and his creation as an individual teaches about his uniqueness, it was soon determined by God that "It is not good for man to be alone." (Genesis 2:18)

Community has a dual power: it enhances the individual and, at the same time, enables the person to face challenges that a solitary individual could not overcome alone.

Over thirty years ago, the movement of religious communities began, which eventually led to the establishment of the Kehillot Foundation.

The Kehillot Foundation undertook a dual mission: to establish and strengthen communities based on the Torah and its values, and to focus its efforts specifically on communities in need of reinforcement and empowerment. During the years of the Foundation’s existence, thousands of young families have moved from central Israel to about seventy religious groups in Israel's geographical or cultural periphery. Members of these groups establish and develop communities, strengthen social structures in urban areas, initiate and engage in acts of kindness, education, and culture, encourage positive migration to the city, and even help settle professionals who are often in short supply in these places. They work with great humility and deep respect for the populations who arrived in the city before them.

It is important to note that each community has a shared vision and mission; however, there is a great diversity between the communities operating in different places across the country. We are confident that within this diversity, many good people can find the community where they would like to live, act, and add goodness.

We invite families seeking a meaningful framework and a spiritual challenge to join our ranks.

Sincerely,
Rabbi Dr. Daniel Troper
President of the Kehillot Foundation

Message from the Chairman of the Foundation – Attorney Yitzhak Lax

The Kehillot Foundation unites about seventy religious and mission-driven groups spread across the country.

These communities are located throughout Israel:

In the south – Eilat, Sderot, Dimona, Yeruham, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi, and more.

In the coastal region – Ramla, Lod, Modi'in, and others.

In the center – Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Hod Hasharon, Ramat Hasharon, Herzliya, and more. In the north – Hadera, Haifa, Acre, Safed, Kiryat Shmona, and more.

The families of these groups, who make these cities their home, buy apartments and reside there for many years.

Members of the group communities work in a wide range of professions including education, healthcare, high-tech, security, law, economics, and all other areas of employment. In addition, they actively engage in the city they live in, focusing on education, social affairs, and community initiatives.

The vision of the Kehillot Foundation is to create a large movement that will uplift the spirit, empower moral values, connect the people to one another, and bring educational, social, and community momentum throughout the communities in Israel.

Sincerely,
Yitzhak Lax, Attorney and Chairman of the Kehillot Foundation
